SMS Consent

What this page is for

This page explains how SMS consent works for RevisitIQ-powered service recall and due-again follow-up text messages. It is intended to help customers, businesses using RevisitIQ, and messaging reviewers understand who collects consent, who sends the messages, and how to opt out.

Who RevisitIQ is for and what messages it sends

RevisitIQ is software used by small service businesses, such as salons, auto shops, and pest control companies, to send service-related text messages to their own existing customers.

Messages sent through RevisitIQ are limited to:

These are customer-service communications. RevisitIQ is not intended for cold outreach, purchased lead lists, unrelated mass marketing, or deceptive messaging.

Who collects SMS consent

The business using RevisitIQ collects and maintains consent.

End customers provide their mobile phone number and agree to receive service-related text messages directly to the business, typically through that business's existing customer intake, service agreement, website or contact form, scheduling process, or customer-management workflow. RevisitIQ does not directly collect every end customer's phone number.

When a business uploads a customer list to RevisitIQ, the business confirms in-app that the recipients are existing customers who gave permission to receive service-related text messages. RevisitIQ requires its users to send only to customers who provided consent to the business.

What RevisitIQ does not allow

Businesses may not use RevisitIQ to message:

What valid consent looks like

Consent collected by the business should be:

Example opt-in language

The phrasings below are examples a business may adapt to fit its own intake process. The exact wording will vary by business and by jurisdiction.

Website or contact form

Web form opt-in

By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive service reminder, recall, and follow-up text messages from [Business Name]. Message frequency varies based on your service schedule. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.

A consent checkbox should be unchecked by default and clearly tied to the SMS agreement. The customer should be able to submit the rest of the form without opting in to text messages.

Paper intake or service agreement

Paper intake opt-in

I agree to receive service-related text messages from [Business Name], including service reminders, recall, and follow-up messages. I understand I can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply.

The customer should sign or initial next to the SMS agreement, separate from any unrelated terms on the same form.

Verbal intake, front desk, or phone

Verbal intake script

"We send service reminders and follow-up text messages to the number you give us. Is it OK if we text you for service reminders? You can reply STOP at any time to opt out."

The staff member should note in the customer record that verbal consent was given, including the date.

What RevisitIQ requires in-app before sending

Before sending a live or trial SMS campaign through RevisitIQ, the operator confirms in-app that:

If the operator cannot confirm all three, the send is blocked.

Opt-out handling

Every text message sent through RevisitIQ includes the footer:

In every outbound text

Reply STOP to unsubscribe

When a recipient replies STOP, the opt-out is processed automatically and the recipient is excluded from future sends from that operator's account through RevisitIQ.
